Deputies pulled over a 23 year old Pinckney man for drunk driving right in front of the Dexter Sheriff Substation at 2:20 a.m., November 27. He was pulled over for erratic driving, with a puff of alcohol coming out of the window of his car. After failing a field sobriety test, he was transported to the Washtenaw County Jail. Deputies have submitted charges for review with the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office.
A domestic violence victim was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for minor injuries just before 12 noon, November 27. Deputies arrested a 35 year old Ann Arbor woman in the 500 block of Plumb Lane, in Scio Township. The suspect was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail. Deputies have submitted charges for review with the Washtenaw County Prosecutor.
Deputies say someone tried and failed to steal money from a machine used to exchange dollar bills to quarters in the 7900 block of Second Street sometime in the late evening of November 27 or the early morning hours of November 28. Sheriff deputies are waiting on security camera footage from the owner of the business.
A 43 year old Whitmore Lake man was arrested in the 6700 block of Derek Drive for domestic violence, November 30. He was transported to the Washtenaw County Jail, awaiting charges submitted to the County Prosecutor.
Sheriff deputies are waiting on blood test results before proceeding on requesting charges against a 74 year old Dexter woman for DUI. They were dispatched to the corner of Dexter-Pinckney and Peach Mount at 2:26 p.m., November 24, after the driver drove off the road and crashed into a tree. She was taken to the University of Michigan hospital for minor injuries and released from the hospital. As she appeared intoxicated and alcohol was found in the car, according to a sheriff’s spokesperson, which is why he blood draw was requested. There were no other reports of injury.
A license plate was stolen off a car in the 3500 block of Brandford Square Drive around noon on November 22. There are no suspects.
A homeowner came back home in the 4900 block of Gullane Drive to discover that someone had tried to break into the house in the afternoon of November 24. The rear screen door of the house was cut and deputies say there was evidence of someone trying to open the front door too. It does not appear that the house was actually entered and nothing was reported missing.
