City issues voter advisory to check ballot, precincts, candidates

With the November 3 election a little over a month away, Dexter city officials are asking the public to prepare themselves for the upcoming vote, which will decide which of four candidates will sit in three open city council seats.

The terms for the three available seats expire on November 19, 2019.

Eligible voters can visit the Michigan Voter Information Center to view a sample ballot, to track the status of their absentee ballot, or verify voter registration.

The City’s two voting precincts are located at the Dexter Senior Center, 7720 Ann Arbor St. The polls will be open on November 3 from 7 a].m. to 8 p.m.

The last day to register to vote for the upcoming election is Monday, October 5, 2015. The Dexter City office, 8123 Main St., 2nd Floor, Dexter, MI 48130 will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the purpose of receiving applications of qualified electors in the City of Dexter who are not already registered.

If you are not currently registered to vote in the City of Dexter at your current address, you may do so in person at the Dexter City Office or at the office of any County Clerk during normal business hours or in person at any Secretary of State Branch Office located throughout the State during normal business hours.

The City is currently recruiting for candidates to serve as Election Inspectors on Election Day. Election Inspectors assist with administering elections at the polls on Election Day from 6 am to 8 pm.
