Arts, Culture, and Heritage Committee Chair Steps Down Oct. 1

If you like what the Arts, Culture, and Heritage Committee has been accomplishing, you might want to give Chairwoman Victoria Schon kudos next time you see her in town.

With eight years heading ACH under her belt and a number of projects going and growing with significant momentum behind them, Schon has made the decision to step down from chairing ACH.

“I just feel it is time for me to move on,” she said to WeLoveDexter Tuesday afternoon. “It’s been a wonderful opportunity to serve our community. The volunteers are a group of committed individuals who are passionate about serving our community.

“And it has been an honor working with the volunteers, the city council and city administration these past eight years. I have grown so much and have made good friends.”

Schon said that her “passions have shifted” recently and she intends to put her energy towards her other interests and topics, such as the environment and health.

Schon also blends the arts with business by providing wellness coaching. She also started a business creating shepherds huts that we’ve written about in the past.

City officials will determine a new ACH member from three current potential candidates at an upcoming regular meeting of the Dexter City Council.
