Acting Up Theatre Company Presents “The Original Superhero” at Dexter District Library

Once again, Dexter District Library is hosting the popular Acting Up Theatre Company. This Friday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m. Chad Patterson and his hilarious group of comedy actors will stop by to perform “The Original Superhero” for kids of all ages. Billy Baxter has a problem. He is stuck in a rut; he works at his parent’s pet shop all day but dreams of being a superhero. He spends most of his time reading comic books about superheroes such as Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Iron Man and Captain Underpants. These books feed his imagination with wonder and delight. His friend Tommy Tuttleburg encourages Billy to follow his dreams by telling him that “Every hero has a story” but Billy has a problem; he has no original ideas; he only sees himself as the heroes in his books. He can’t tell his “own” story. Tommy tells him that stories are to inspire originality not to copy. Then inspiration literally bites Billy on the behind. This fast-paced comedy – with audience participation – is for children of all ages. Registration is not required and everyone is welcome.funny superhero
