E4DS Invites You to “Soar Into Summer” Party June 13

Excellence for Dexter Students (ED4S) is throwing a party, Soar Into Summer, Wednesday, June 13, 5-8pm, at the Dexter Community Schools Bus Hub. The fun event is a fundraiser for ED4S who works to provide superior educational opportunities for Dexter Community School Students.

ED4S is inviting everyone to celebrate the last half-day of another great school year, and the first half-day of summer, to Dexter’s first festival of the season with food, activities and fun for everyone.

Food trucks will be on-site providing great food and treats.

Ruby’s Makery will be hosting sidewalk art. Hoppers Houses’ will provide an inflatable obstacle course, basketball mini-hoops, and football goal post. Go wild with GaGa Ball. Get your face painted, and your kids too. Providing there are no emergencies elsewhere, the Dexter Area Fire Department, Huron Valley Ambulance, and Washtenaw County Sheriff will be there for an up close and personal experience with these fascinating vehicles.

But hang on. There’s may be an early Father’s Day gift here for dads. Weather permitting there will be a couple cars on display from the Lingenfelter Preview (thanks Liz Pielsticker and Tim Shinn):

  • McLaren 650s Volcano Red
  • Ferrari 458 Italia-white

Here’s a thing: a dunk tank with some of Dexter’s coaches and principals. $2/ball or $5/3 balls.

Check-in at the E4DS tent and make your donation for the event and E4DS. Suggested family donation for the event is $30.

Plenty of parking is available in the school lots. Bring a blanket or chairs for picnic dinner and performances.

If the weather gets questionable, check for relocation to Creekside Gym on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/209886452933695/

A huge thanks to all the E4DS sponsors: Dexter Print & Embroidery, Lessors Welding Supplies, Busch’s Fresh Food Market, Hustling Hoagies, Petey’s Donuts, Hopper’s Houses, Kona Ice, Ruby’s Makery, and American Dairy Treats.

All proceeds from Soar Into Summer go to E4DS which raises money to ensure educational excellence in Dexter Community Schools. Thanks to the generous (tax-deductible) donations of local residents and businesses, E4DS funds Dexter 6th graders for EMU Explorer’s Camp and also expands the elementary science program. E4DS is currently working to raise enough money to hire a part-time high school coordinator of internships for Dexter students.
