Track and Field: Dexter boys, girls race in tri-meet at Lincoln

Dexter headed to Lincoln on Tuesday for an SEC tri-meet with the Railsplitters and Chelsea. The boys’ team lost to Chelsea 93-44 and fell to Lincoln 82.5-54.5.

While the weather wasn’t cooperating, the Dreads gutted out some great performances against two of the better teams in the area.

Jimmy Fortuna-Peak placed in both the 100m and 200m, setting personal best times in both. Wilson Kasishek took two places in the 300m hurdles and the high jump, also setting personal best marks in each event.

Girls
The Dexter girls’ team scored two wins on the day. The Dreadnaughts defeated rival Chelsea 81-56 and knocked off Lincoln 85-52.

Dexter controlled the field events, sweeping the pole vault and high jump, taking first and third in the long jump, and placing in the shot put and discus. The Dreads also had top place performances in both the mile and two mile races with first-place finishes in the 800, 100m hrdles, and going first and third in the 300m hurdles rounded out
Dexter’s track performances.

Nicole Bow was a triple winner (100mH, 300mH, LJ). Double placers were Maggie Jordan (100m, 200m), Dani Waidley (1600m, 3200m) and Anna Varitek (1600, 3200).
