Swimming: Dreadnaughts splash past South Lyon

The Dexter swimming and diving team splashed their way to a 3-0 record on Tuesday with a convincing 112-74 victory over host South Lyon.

The Dreads opened with a win in the medley relay as the foursome of Amelia Kinnard, Annette Schultz, Kamille Balcom and Hannay Quist took first place in 1 minute, 53.54 seconds.

Charlotte Schultz (first in 1:56.41) and Sarah Zofchak (second in 1:58.39) went one-two in the 200 yard freestyle.
Dexter swept the IM with Kinnard in first (2:11.97), Grace Kacmarek in second (2:13.18) and Jordan Maisch in third (2:24.21).

Quist was third in the 50 free in 25.94.

Nicole France was third in diving (165 points).

Annette Schultz swam to first in the butterfly in 1:00.82 with Zofchak in third (1:01.23).

Charlotte Schultz returned to the winner’s circle as the freshman took first in the 100 freestyle in 54.29.
Annette Schultz also returned to the top of the podium as the senior grabbed first place in the 500 free with a time of 5:11.79. Kacmarek was second in 5:16.25.

Dexter’s 200 free relay team of Charlotte Schultz, Maisch, Kacmarek and Zofchak took first place in 1:42.84.
Kinnard won her second race of the day after winning the backstroke in 58.74. Teammate Addie Carr was third in 1:04.99.

Zoe Michos was second in the breaststroke in 1:12.16 with Kamille Balcom third in 1:13.27.
The Dreads put a bow on the meet with a sweep of the 400 free relay. The foursome of Schultz, Schultz, Zofchak and Kacmarek took first in 3:43.98 while the group of Quist, Carr, Kinnard and Hailee Waters took second in 3:43.98.
